Pastor - Ben Floyd
Ben comes to Albemarle after serving churches in Asheville, Boone, and North Georgia. He graduated from Auburn University in 1996 with a BA in cultural anthropology and, after a number of years as a woodworker, upholsterer, coffee roaster, and kindergarten teacher he returned to studies and received his M.Div. from Candler School of Theology in 2017. His call to ministry was one that built over time as he grew in faith and service at his local church. He loves serving in parish ministry and everything that entails – pastoral care, teaching, preaching, spiritual formation, and helping others grow as disciples. His wife, Amy, taught for 16 years before moving to Albemarle and still loves working with kids. He, Amy, and their two kids (Grace and Sam) love exploring new locations, meeting new people, and having competitive game nights at home.
